Who is a real leader? By definition, this is a person who satisfies his own selfishness while realizing the public interest. A leader stimulates progress in society, ensuring forward movement. He takes on this role voluntarily and consciously, and enjoys the game.
A leader always sets a goal, creates conditions, selects people and means to achieve it. That is why it is so important that all processes at the enterprise are led by leaders. A true leader is characterized by innate potential, deep professionalism in his work and always the superiority of results.
– If you want to know if you are a leader, first of all, look back and compare yourself now with who you were, say, five years ago, – Kseniia Valieva advises.
Leaders are always characterized by the following aspects:
- They create jobs.
- They create opportunities for others around them.
- They provide profit.
- They contribute to the development of the field in which they work.
At the same time, the leader never puts himself on a pedestal. Sometimes he can remain invisible. You can be in control while staying in the shadows. The main thing is to steadily move towards your goal.
– If we take a closer look at people who have bright leadership qualities, we will notice that they are, as a rule, comprehensively developed personalities, – Kseniia Valieva continues. – An effective leader is usually educated in the field of art, music, painting, knows history and literature well. He does not have to be an expert in humanitarian disciplines. But general education is always at the highest level. He also knows how to communicate with people, speak in front of an audience, has diplomatic skills, etc. The leader understands well that all the people around him have their baggage of complexes and stereotypes. He does not require his employees to change immediately, but can effectively work with the “material” that is at his disposal.
In other words, the leader does not enter into conflict with the system, but, using the proposed conditions, plays his game. It is also important for a good manager not to get involved in conflicts that arise in the team. However, for this you need to sacrifice the opportunity to get closer to employees. Experts believe that a leader does not have the right to be friends with subordinates, otherwise he will not be able to remain detached from problems in communication between them.
A leader must have seven basic qualities:
- Strong development potential.
- Rational thinking.
- Be ambitious, have the will and desire to achieve the goal. A leader simply cannot help but do what he is busy with.
- Love your business.
- To be a true professional in your field.
- Be able to isolate yourself from current problems and focus on the main thing.
- Have good intuition.
On the other hand, factors that prevent a person from taking a leadership position should be taken into account. They are the following:
- Limiting beliefs. For example, there is an opinion that big money cannot be earned in an honest way, or that modesty suits betterl. Both of these create patterns of behavior that prevent success.
- Dysfunctional behavior. In this case, a person raises such values as love, friendship, and family to the highest pedestal. They sacrifice their own self for them, pay less attention to their own development, their career, social growth, etc. By the way, working exclusively for money is also an example of dysfunctional behavior.
- Inability to properly manage your free time. A person should have a full and quality rest.
- Carelessness in acquaintances and relationships. If people appear in your environment who despise business, career, do not seek to have material goods or are chronic losers, think about how communication with them will affect you?
